Career
He played with the New Jersey Nets of the National Basketball Association (National Basketball Association). Ilić, a 2.15 m tall (7"1") center, was drafted by the Nets in 2005 as the 43rd overall pick, and began his rookie season in 2006-2007. Ilić started his senior career with FMP. In the 2005 National Basketball Association Draft he was drafted by the New Jersey Nets as a 43rd overall pick.
On September 13, 2006, Nets signed Ilić as a foreseeable future backup for countryman Nenad Krstić.
On February 26, 2007, the Nets assigned him to the Colorado 14ers, their National Basketball Association Development League affiliate. Ilić thus became the first player that the Nets assigned to the Doctorate-League since instituting affiliate teams (prior to the 2005-2006 National Basketball Association season).
On October 29, 2007, he was traded by the Nets to New Orleans Hornets along with Bernard Robinson for David Wesley (both Ilić and Robinson were immediately waived by the Hornets). After getting waived in the National Basketball Association, Ilić returned to Europe and signed with Lokomotiv Rostov on November 26, 2007.
However he never played for the Russian club because of injury.
On February 24, 2008, he signed with Central Bank Bilbao Berri, team from the Spanish ACB. Hampered by the recovery process from a leg injury he only appeared in 10 games for the club averaging 5.6 points and 4.1 rebounds per game. On July 28, 2008, Ilić signed with Central Bank Sevilla for the 2008-2009 season. On March 27, 2009, he parted ways with Sevilla after averaging only 2 points and 2 rebounds per game.
In March 2010, he signed with Metalac Valjevo for the 2009-2010 Serbian Superleague season.
Foreign the 2010-2011 season he returned to FMP Železnik. The 2011-2012 season he played with Crvena zvezda.
In March 2013, signed with Vojvodina Srbijagas for the 2012-2013 Serbian Superleague season. In October 2013, he signed with Mahram Tehran British Columbia of the Iranian Super League.
In January 2014, he left Tehran and signed with Master of International Affairs Academy of the Georgian Super Liga for the rest of the season.
In 2015, he played with Qatar Club. On October 17, 2015 he signed with the Lithuanian club Lietkabelis Panevėžys.
