He was a brother of well-known filmmaker Mohammad Walli (famously known as Walli Sahib). Nazim Panipati has written more than two hundred songs for Hindi, Urdu and Punjabi language films. Indian legendary singer, Lata Mangeshkar recorded the first song of her career "Dil Mera Tora, Mujhe Kahin Ka Na Chora Tere Pyar Ne" music by Ghulam Haider for the film Majboor (1948 film), was also written by Nazim Panipati.
The song became highly popular throughout the length and breadth of India.
He introduced Vyjayanthimala, Johnny Walker and Helen to the Indian film industry. In 1952, Nazim Panipati migrated to Pakistan.
In mid 1960"s, he joined Pakistan Television Corporation, and wrote songs for a musical programme named Jhankar. On 18 June 1998, he died in Lahore, Pakistan.
