He competed at the Summer Olympics and the Summer Olympics. He is the father of Dan Martin, and related by marriage to Stephen and Nicolas Roche, all fellow racing cyclists. Martin joined the new Swiss Education Group Racing team in 2015 as a directeur sportif.
