Career
Niki Tzavela was a Greek Member of the European Parliament in the European Parliament (2009 – 2014). Mississippi Tzavela was the European Parliament rapporteur in the following reports. "European Broadband: investing in digitally driven growth (2010-2011)," "Industrial, energy, and other aspects of shale gas and oil (since 2012)", "Energy roadmap 2050, a future with energy (since 2012)" and "a European metrology programme for innovation and research".
- She has been a Member of Parliament in the Greek Parliament between 1994 and 1996 with the New Democracy Party.
- Head of the National Greek Manpower Employment Organisation (1989-1993). Former non political positions include:

She ran the Kokkalis Foundation Program for Southeastern Europe at Kennedy School Harvard University for 12 years (United States of America)and Vice-Chair of the Kokkalis Foundation.
