He finished eighth at the 2002 European Championships in Munich, having been in silver medal position until the last three kilometres of the race.

He has represented Saskatchewan Vidar, Bislett FIK and Haugesund Illinois. He later competed at the 2003 World Championships, 2003 IAAF World Half Marathon Championships and 2006 European Championships without much success. He never participated in the Summer Olympics. He is currently teaching history and gymnastics classes at Skeisvang Videregående Skole in Haugesund, Norway.
