He was a pupil of his father, Jean Augustin Daiwaille, Charles Howard Hodges, January Hulswit, Pieter Barbiers IV and January Willem Pieneman. He is known for historical interiors in the manner of Pieter de Hooch.
In 1833 he became a member of the Koninklijke Akademie van Beeldende Kunsten in Amsterdam.
