Career
Born in Olhão, Luciano started at South Carolina (U.S.) Olhanense at age 19. He moved to South.L. in 1963 and coach Lajos Czeizler gave him the right-back position, until he injured his knee, needing an operation. After he returned, he got injured again, now in the ankle, only returning to fitness in 1966-1967.

Jaime Graça, Santana and Eusébio escaped with burns, Cavém, Malta da Silva and Carmo Pais were knocked unconscious, until Jaime Graça managed to climb out the pool and cut off the power supply. Luciano died immediately, at age 26. played the rest of the season in black, winning the league.
