He played for the Romanian team in the group stage games in the 2008 European Championships. Club
Codrea started playing football in his hometown at the club LPS Banatul Timisoara. Good performances, he played on the notes of scouts and a little later he moved to the youth department of Dinamo București.
From the 1996/97 season he was in the first team of the Romanian giants.
Two seasons later, he transferred back to the Liga 1 this time to Argeș Pitești. There, Codrea also sign a two-year contract.
