Until January 22, 2013, Faris co-anchored the news programs World News Now and America This Morning on American Broadcasting Company with Rob Nelson. On July 18, 2014, Faris was promoted to co-anchor of Good Morning America Weekend. Starting with Season 19, Faris has became a permanent co-host of The View.
She is a 1997 graduate of Cedarville University with a degree in broadcasting with an emphasis in television production.
After graduation, Faris held several communications-related jobs including an operations position at Mills/James Productions in Columbus, Ohio. She held a job in radio sales, due to limited television opportunities.
She eventually found work for a year as a production assistant at WKEF/WRGT and later to occasionally report and anchor. From 2002 to 2005 she was the weekend sports anchor and weekday sports anchor at WCPO-television in Cincinnati.
After her contract expired, she became a sports reporter and anchor at the National Broadcasting Company affiliate WMAQ-television in Chicago from November
2005 to December 2011. Faris then moved to American Broadcasting Company and debuted on American Broadcasting Company"s World News Now and America This Morning on January 2, 2012. During this time she occasionally appeared as a fill-in on Good Morning America and was on assignment.
Faris was later promoted to a New York based correspondent for all American Broadcasting Company News programs.
Her final episode of World News Now and America This Morning was January 22, 2013. Paula filled in for David Muir on American Broadcasting Company World News on Sunday, February 24, 2013. On July 18, 2014, American Broadcasting Company News announced the promotion of Faris to weekend co-anchor of Good Morning America, following the departure of Bianna Golodryga, who moved to Yahoo! News.
On August 25th, 2015 American Broadcasting Company announced she would be the co-host of The View for its 19th season.
