Career
The film has been featured as an official selection at the 2009 GoreZone Weekend of Horrors Film Festival, the 2010 A Night of Horror International Film Festival, the 2010 Ravenna NightMare Film Festival, and the 2010 New York City Horror Film Festival. The film was released in 2012. In 2012, Fangoria announced that Debbie Rochon would be directing a script written by James titled Model Hunger.
The production is expected to feature Lynn Lowry, Tiffany Shepis, and Carmine Capobianco with supporting roles from cult stars Voltaire, Suzi Lorraine, and Lloyd Kaufman.
The film has been noted for its focus on body image and the negative effects of exploitation and contemporary notions of beauty. In 2015, the production announced the film would make its world premiere at the Crimson Screen Horror Film Fest in Charleston, South Carolina and its international premiere at The Oldenburg International Film Festival in Oldenburg, Germany.
James has also been noted for his academic career. He has earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting, a Bachelor in English, a Master of Accountancy from Rider University, and a Master of Arts in English Literature from Pennsylvania State University.
On Halloween night 2010, he introduced a showing of Rosemary"s Baby at the State Theatre in State College by discussing the film"s subtext of woman"s entrapment in a male-dominated society.
From 2011 to 2013, James served as the Director of Media & Distribution for Viscera Film Festival where he organized international screenings for horror films written and directed by women. On February 4, 2012, James organized a screening of "feminist response" horror films for Pennsylvania State University. The panel discussed the films" representation of gender, sexuality, abjection, and the female protagonists" management of horror as well as how the films differed from mainstream commercial horror films and from international horror films.
