He is also the Eastern North Carolina Director for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He played his college career for North Carolina State where he led the team to an 8-4 record his senior season, and was named Most Valuable Player of the 1977 Peach Bowl. He completed 3 years in the NFL for the Cleveland Browns and 3 years in the Canadian Football League for the Montreal Alouettes.
Since 1996 he has been the radio color commentator for North Carolina State football.
He is the father of quadruplets, two of whom played football for North Carolina State.
