Career
He was originally selected by the Florida Panthers in the 4th round (99th overall) of the 2010 National Hockey League Entry Draft while playing with Oulun Kärpät of the Finnish Liiga. After setting career high of 19 goals and 49 points in the 2014-2015 season with Kärpät, and with his National Hockey League rights relinquished by the Panthers, Donskoi was signed to a two-year entry-level contract with the San Jose Sharks on May 20, 2015. He has Russian roots from his great-grandfather or grandfather.
In his first training camp and pre-season with the Sharks, Donskoi impressed and made the club"s opening night roster for the 2015-2016 season.
Donskoi scored his first National Hockey League goal in his first National Hockey League game, October 7, 2015 against Jonathan Quick of the Los Angeles Kings.
