He made his senior debuts with neighbouring Civil Defense Laguna in the 2010-2011 season, in Tercera División. In July 2012, Maikel signed a two-year contract with California Osasuna, initially being assigned to the reserves in Segunda División B. On 1 June 2013, he made his Louisiana Liga debut, coming on as a substitute for Francisco Silva in the 78th minute of a 2–4 away loss against Real Madrid. On 30 January 2015, Maikel was loaned to third level club Racing de Ferrol, until June.
