Before moving to Detroit, she attended Nardin Academy High School. The following season, Hawayek/Bramante competed at two International Skating Union Junior Grand Prix events and finished 6th on the junior level at the 2012 United States. Championships.

Baker sustained a concussion when Hawayek accidentally struck him with her arm in September 2015, just prior to the Labor Day weekend.
