1752–1823) was a Scottish physician and writer Edwards took his degree at Edinburgh University in 1772, and appears to have practised as a physician in London, and latterly at Barnard Castle, Durham. He was an untiring propounder of political and social schemes between 1779 and 1819.
lieutenant does not appear that Edwards attracted any attention, and he may not have been entirely sane.
He died in London on 17 February 1823, at the age of seventy-seven.
