They had three children and resided at Høvik. She was elected to the Parliament of Norway from Akershus in 1977, and was re-elected in 1981, serving until 1985. She had previously served as a deputy representative during the terms 1965–1969 and 1969–1973.
On the local level she was a member of the executive committee of Bærum municipal council from 1963 to 1971. From 1965 to 1971 she was a member of Akershus county council.
