Background
Ruzzo was the son of Heinrich Enzio Prinz Reuss, Count of Plauen (1922–2000) and a Swedish mother, Baroness Louise Peyron (1918–1989).

His family branch was the royal family of the Principality of Reuss-Gera until 1918. His mother"s family, Peyron, immigrated to Sweden from France in 1740, was ennobled in Sweden in 1825, conferred baronial status in 1841 and introduced at the Swedish House of Nobility the following year. Louise Peyron was an artist.
The prince was known by the Italian given name of Ruzzo.
In 1972, his mother remarried nobleman Theodor Stig Jakob Christoffer "Ted" Ankarcrona (1918–1984), owner of the estate Boserup in Scania and Runsa Castle in Uppland. He was educated in Sweden, where he was a schoolfriend of King Carl Gustaf of Sweden, having attended the same boarding school.
Prince Ruzzo and the then-Crown Prince of Sweden enjoyed hunting together. Later in life, he relocated to Switzerland, where he lived on his family castle in Fribourg.
In 1989, his mother died and he inherited her farm in Glumslöv outside Landskrona.
He was interested in golf and constructed two golf courses on his properties in Switzerland and Lundsberg, Sweden. Prince Ruzzo was married to Mette Rinde, a native of Norway, from 1974 to 1986, and they had twin daughters. He died from lymphoma in 1999.
