Hilary Farr is an international home designer and co-host of the Love lieutenant or List lieutenant television show, along with David Visentin.
Background
Farr was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and grew up in London, England, United Kingdom. Her first dabbling with interior design came from helping her mother hunt down unexpected pieces of art and other accessories to decorate her childhood home.
Career
The show is broadcast on HGTV and West Network. In Spain, the show is broadcast with dual sound-track (Spanish voices-over / English) on Divinity. She was initially interested in pursuing theatre.
She landed part-time jobs in Los Angeles, when she first started renovating homes as well as various film and television show sets.
Farr previously bought various properties and renovated them. Farr has one son. Acting under the name Hilary Labow, Farr made small appearances in movies such as Layout for 5 Models (1972), Sex Farm (1973), Never Mind the Quality, Feel the Width (1973), Legend of the Werewolf (1975), The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975), City on Fire (1979) and The Return (1980).
Farr has designed properties in various countries throughout the world, including Australia and United Kingdom, as well as California and New York in the United States. Currently she is renovating homes for various customers in Toronto.
Farr serves as one of two hosts, along with David Visentin, on the Canadian television show Love lieutenant or List lieutenant, and serves as president of Hilary Farr"s Designs, established in Toronto and in New New York
Farr has renovated homes for notable celebrities, including Jenna Elfman"s home and Jennifer Hudson"s loft in Chicago. When Farr first returned to Toronto, she was announced as one of the hosts of Love lieutenant or List lieutenant by the West Network and Corus Entertainment, Farr also served as a judge on West Network"s Search for the Next West Expert 2010. In 2011, she made numerous guest appearances at the Canadian International Interior Design Show, hosted in the cities of Toronto, Edmonton and Vancouver.
She also made frequent guest appearances on The Marilyn Denis Show and is also a regular contributor to the Huffington Post.
In June 2014, Farr visited Orland Park and Chicago, Illinois, United States of America as a guest and design expert along with Cable News Network and United States of America Today pundit and journalist Amy Tara Koch at the Art Van Furniture convention. Love lieutenant or List lieutenant
lieutenant was then, on the advice from a friend, that Farr decided to audition for the show in order to channel away her negative emotions.
Farr was signed by Corus Entertainment and Big Coat Productions as co-host along with David Visentin in 2008.
