Iliana Malinova Iotova is a Bulgarian member of the European Parliament.
Education
Iotova holds a Master"s degree in Bulgarian and French philology from the University of Sofia. She has specialized at the École nationale d"administration (Ecole nationale d'administration, National School of Administration) in Strasbourg, France, and the Center for European Studies" (Centre for Explosive and Environment Safety) of the University of Strasbourg.
Career
She sits on the Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection and is a substitute for the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs. She also participates in the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats in the European Parliament. She speaks Bulgarian, French and English.
From 1990-1997 at Bulgarian National Television, Iotova worked as a reporter, editor, director and presenter of news and current affairs programmes.
She then worked as the director of the press service of the Bulgarian Socialist Party and in 2005 she was voted into the National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria.

In Bulgaria, Iotova is a member of the Bulgarian Socialist Party and one of its most prominent faces in 2014.
