She completed her secondary education in Liepāja high school in 1996. She then studied in the Faculty of Law at the University of Latvia and at the University of Freiburg in Germany.
From 2004 she was an assistant professor at the University of Latvia"s faculty of Civil Law. In 2007 she was awarded a Doctorate in Law. From 2007 to 2011 she was legal advisor to President Valdis Zatlers.
In 2011 she joined Zatlers" Reform Party.
From 20 October 2011 she was Chairperson of the Legal Affairs Committee.
As a party list candidate for the 11th Parliamentary elections, she was elected to the Courland region.
She became a member of a legal firm. She became a member of the Justice Committee and the European Affairs Committee.
