Career
Yartey began his youth and professional career with Ghanaian club All Blacks F.C., before joining South.L. Benfica on a 1-year loan deal with a buy option at the end of the contract. Former Benfica"s manager Quique Flores was the first manager that called Yartey to train with the senior squad, but his debut with Benfica"s shirt was never made. Beira-March & Fátima (loan)
On 15 July 2009, Yartey left South.L. Benfica and signed a one-year loan deal with South Carolina (U.S.) Beira March, then at the end of the season he signed for Communicative Disorders Fátima, another one-year loan.
In January 2011 he was loaned to South Carolina (U.S.) Beira-March for the remainder of the 2010-2011 Primeira Liga season.
Servette (loan)
On 21 June 2011, he was again loaned, this time to Servette F.C. of the Swiss Super League until the end of the 2011-2012 Swiss Super League. Benfica
In June 2012, Yartey returned to Benfica from his season long loan at Servette Football Club. He never made his debut for Benfica.
Sochaux
On 19 July 2012, Yartey signed a 4-year contract with French Ligue 1 club Football Club Sochaux-Montbéliard. Portland Timbers
On March 26, 2015, Yartey signed a loan contract with the Portland Timbers of Master of Library Science with a transfer option from French Ligue 1 club Football Club Sochaux-Montbéliard.
Yartey represented Ghana U-17 (Black Starlets) in the 2007 Fédération internationale de football association U-17 World Cup in of Korea Republic.
