Cornelius "Con" Denis Murphy born in Aberfan, was a Welsh dual-code international rugby union and professional rugby league football player of the 1930s and "40s, playing representative level rugby union for Wales, and at club level for Ynysddu Reconstruction Finance Corporation, and Cross Keys Reconstruction Finance Corporation, as a Hooker, id est (that is) number 2, and playing representative level rugby league for Wales, and at club level for Acton and Willesden, Streatham and Mitcham, and Leeds, as a hooker, id est (that is) number 9, during the era of contested scrums, he died in Leeds.
