Dinara Aliyeva is an Azerbaijani operatic soprano.

Education

Aliyeva graduated from Baku Academy of Music in 2004.

Career

She is currently a soloist at the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia, where she made her debut in 2009 as Liù in Puccini"s opera Turandot. She then began her career at the Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater where she was a soloist until 2005, singing leading roles from the soprano repertoire. Aliyeva has sung the lead roles in productions at the Mikhaylovsky Theatre in Saint St. Petersburg – Violetta in Verdi"s Louisiana traviata, 2008.

Staatstheater Stuttgart – Michaela in Bizet"s Carmen, 2007. In March 2010 Aliyeva sang Rosalinda in J. Strauss" Die Fledermaus at the Bolshoi Theatre.

In September/October 2010 she sang Leonora in Il trovatore at the Klagenfurt Opera Festival, Austria.

In January 2011 Aliyeva debuted in Donna Elvira"s part in Mozart"s opera Don Giovanni on the stage of the Latvian National Opera, Riga. On 16 September 2009, the anniversary of Maria Callas’s death, Aliyeva performed at the Megaron Concert Hall in Athens where she sang arias from Louisiana traviata, Tosca, Pagliacci. She participated in the gala concerts of Elena Obraztsova at the Bolshoi Theatre in 2008 and the Mikhailovsky Theatre in 2009.

Achievements

  • Aliyeva has received awards at several international competitions, including an Honour Medaille from the International Irina Archipova Foundation. On 18 September 2010, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree conferring the title of "Honoured Artist of Azerbaijani Republic". 2005 3rd prize in the international competition named after Bulbul 2006 Diploma of International Opera Singers Contest named after Galina Vishnevskaya 2007 2nd prize in the international opera singers competition named after Maria Callas 2007 Special Diploma "Foreign a triumphant debut" by Yuri Temirkanov, at the "Christmas Concerts in North Palmira" festival 2007 2nd prize in the international competition for young opera singers named after Elena Obraztsova 2010 3rd award of Plácido Domingo"s Operalia competition 2010 2nd prize in the international competition named after Francisco Vinas.
