Having begun skating in 2005, Aliev trained in Ukhta until 2013 when he moved to Saint St. Petersburg, becoming a student of Evgeni Rukavicin. 2014-2015 season
Aliev debuted on the International Skating Union Junior Grand Prix series in the 2014-2015 season. Making his senior international debut, he placed 10th at the 2014 Golden Spin of Zagreb, an International Skating Union Challenger Series event.
2015-2016 season
In 2015-2016, Aliev"s first assignment was the Junior Grand Prix event in Riga, Latvia.
He was awarded his second JGP gold medal in Linz, Austria, by a margin of over 14 points ahead of silver medalist, Vincent Zhou. These results qualified Aliev for the 2015-2016 JGP Final in Barcelona.
On December 24-27, Aliev finished 6th at the 2016 Russian Championships held in Ekaterinburg, Russia.
