Dmytro Timashov is a Ukrainian-born Swedish ice hockey player and a prospect of the Toronto Maple Leafs of the National Hockey League.

Career

He is currently playing with the Shawinigan Cataractes of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL). Timashov made his Swedish Hockey League debut playing with Modo Hockey during the 2013-2014 SHL season. Following this season, Timashov left Sweden to join the Quebec Remparts.

On June 27, 2015, during the 2015 National Hockey League Entry Draft, Timashov was selected in the 5th round, 125th overall, by the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Timashov was selected to represent Team Sweden at the 2016 World Junior Championships. Timashov excelled at the tournament, recording 7 points in 7 games played, and helping Sweden to a 4th place finish.

On January 6, 2016 Timashov was traded to the Shawinigan Cataractes. The trade came after weeks of speculation.
