Dorin Mateuț is a retired Romanian football player.

Background

He was born in Bogata-Curtuiuş, Cluj County and debuted in Divizia A with Corvinul Hunedoara in 1981.

Career

He currently works as an assistant manager for Dinamo Bucharest. In the 1986-1987 season, he earned a transfer to Dinamo București. He later played abroad with mixed success, in Spain and Italy.

Mateuț made his debut for Romania in 1984 against Algeria, and was chosen for the 1990 World Cup squad.

Achievements

  • He scored an astounding 43 goals to take the top goalscorer title and even the European Golden Boot in 1988-1989, and the following year Dinamo won the league championship. He won 56 caps in total, the last in 1991, and scored 10 goals.
