Began in popular vaudeville, later in burlesque, then in Keith’s vaudeville, and with Morosco, the Shuberts and Florenz Ziegfeld. Toured as Sam Beverly Moon, in “Canary Cottage,” 1916. Played in “Broadway Brevities,” 1920.
“Make It Snappy,” 1922. Starring in “Kid Boots,” 1923-1926, “Whoopee,” 1929-1930. Made his first appearance in motion pictures, 1926.
Active as artist on television programs. Founder of Eddie Cantor Camp Committee, sending poor, undernourished boys to the country. Active in Jewish as well as Christian charities and in national and patriotic movements.
President Jewish Theatrical Guild of America. President American Federal of Radio Artists. Member of the board of directors Surprise Lake Camp.
