Early career
He began playing football in local club Football Club Flora Kehtna. In season 2000 he had short spell with Pärnu Tervis. At the age of 16, Enar started his professional career with Flora, Estonia"s biggest club, in 2001.
He played there only one league game.
A year later he joined with Valga, but after two seasons he moved back to Flora. Torpedo Moscow
On 3 February 2005, Jääger signed a 3-year contract with Russian Premier League club Torpedo Moscow.
Twelve days later he played his first game for Torpedo Moscow against Metalurh Donetsk. In Russia often played as right-back, but even in front of the defence as a defensive midfielder.
His club Torpedo Moscow were relegated from the Russian Premier League at the end of the 2006 season, and he then moved to Norway.
Aalesund
After refusing an offer from Major League Soccer club New York Red Bulls Jääger rejoined Tippeligaen club Aalesund on 5 March 2010. After refusing a contract extension, he left the club after the 2011 season. On 5 January 2012, Jääger passed a medical at Polish Ekstraklasa side Lechia Gdańsk, but rejected the contract offer to pursue other options.
He then had a test period with Scottish Premier League champions Rangers Ally McCoist was impressed and keen to sign him, but the player eventually left the club without an offer after the trial period ended as Rangers failed to reduce their wage bill to make room for the Estonian.
On 5 February 2012, he started a trial at English League One side Charlton Athletic, which was cut short due to bad weather conditions at the time. English Football League Championship sides Crystal Palace and Leeds United were rumored to be interested in the player.
Jääger joined Aalesund for the third time on 13 March 2012, after an improved one-year contract offer was made by the Norwegian club Ascoli
On 19 July 2009, Jääger signed a 3-year contract with Italian Serie B club Ascoli.
Failing to make an impact at the team, his contract was mutually terminated on 30 January 2010, after just 5 league appearances.
Jääger has been capped 119 times for the Estonia national football team He made his national team debut in a friendly match against New Zealand on 12 October 2002. Jääger played his 100th game for Estonia on 19 November 2013 against Liechtenstein, a day after his 29th birthday.
