Career
He started his playing career with FK Velež (1967-1976), where he played a record 600 games in his nine-year stint. He was capped 32 times for Yugoslavia. He returned to the game as a goalkeeping coach to Velež 1987-1990, Fortuna Düsseldorf 1993–1998 and Hertha Bachelor of Science 2003–2010.
On October 7, 2010, Marić suffered a stroke in Berlin.
