She attended the Godolphin and Latymer School in London.
She began acting at age 12. In 2013 she graduated with a Double First in English from Newnham College, Cambridge where Emma Thompson, Olivia Williams and Miriam Margolyes also studied. Gaunt portrayed Pansy Parkinson in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and Jessica Fuller in The Face of an Angel.
