Bhagwant Mann was born in village Satauj located in Sangrur district.
He is well known for his skits in the Punjabi language. He started his comedy career by participating in youth festivals and inter-college competitions. His second comedy album entitled "Kulfi Garma Garm" proved to be a huge success.
Bhagwant Mann"s comedy focuses on Indian issues – politicians, policemen, business departments, and sports.
His first comedy album was with Jagtar Jaggi and together they were the most successful comedy partnership of the 1990s, creating many successful comedy albums. They also created a show for the Punjabi channel Alpha ETC Punjabi, called Jugnu Kehnda Hai.
After 10 years together, Jaggi and Mann split when Jaggi felt he was not getting the cr he deserved. Both were very popular and worked together on Jugnu Mast Mast for Alpha ETC Punjabi.
In 2006, it was announced that Bhagwant & Jaggi had settled their differences and were due to reunite.
Both toured Canada & England with their stage play Number Life With Wife. Bhagwant also gained nationwide recognition when he competed in the Great Indian Laughter Challenge on Star Plus. This widened his audience and made him popular throughout the world.
He is nowadays the world"s most appreciated Punjabi comedian.
Bhagwant Mann also acted in a show on Microbiology and Botany One called Jugnu Hazir Hai and featured in Manjit Mann"s film Sukhmani alongside Gurdas Maan. In early 2011, he joined active politics of Punjab with his membership of People"s Party of Punjab under the leadership of Manpreet Singh Badal.
He unsuccessfully contested elections from Lehragaga assembly constituency in 2012 Punjab Assembly Elections. He left the People"s Party of Punjab in March 2014 and joined Aam Aadmi Party to contest as its candidate from Sangrur Lok Sabha constituency in the Indian General Election 2014.

He has also questioned the incumbent government on their electoral promises and the policies being introduced by them. He set up a non-governmental organization Lok Lehar Foundation to help children affected from deformities due to polluted groundwater in the border areas of Punjab.
