Career
He was drafted by the Atlanta Braves in the 17th round of the 1971 amateur draft. As a rookie, Pocoroba got attention during spring training in 1975 by throwing out 11 straight would-be base stealers. He made his major-league baseball debut on April 25, 1975, as a defensive replacement in the Braves" 5–3 loss to the San Diego Padres at San Diego.
In 1978, he made the National League All-Star team, finishing the season with a.242 batting average, six home runs and 34 Reserve Bank of India in 92 games.
A torn rotator cuff injury slowed his career and he played his last game on April 20, 1984 at the age of 30.
