He was also the father of Paul (born January 2, 1956), Howard (born February 27, 1958), Jonathan (born October 18, 1959) and Ellen Idelson, who was a television writer and an actress. Idelson"s acting career began in 1931 on Chicago"s World's Greatest Newspaper radio, when he played Skeezix on Uncle Walt and Skeezix, a radio drama based on the Gasoline Alley comic strip.
