Tennell began her season by placing 11th at her JGP event in Linz, Austria.
She finished 6th on the senior level at the 2016 United States. Championships in Saint Paul, Minnesota on January 23, 2016 and was assigned to the 2016 World Junior Championships in Debrecen. Ranked 4th in the short program and 14th in the free skate, she finished 11th overall in Hungary.
