He is currently playing as a prospect within the Arizona Coyotes organization of the National Hockey League (National Hockey League). Perlini was selected by the Arizona Coyotes in the first round (12th overall) of the 2014 National Hockey League Entry Draft. Junior
Perlini was drafted by the Barrie Colts in the 1st round (16th overall) of the 2012 OHL Priority Selection.
Perlini was rated as a top prospect and was viewed as a possible Top 10 selection heading into the 2014 National Hockey League Draft.
In September 2007, he and his family moved to Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada.
Perlini started the 2012-2013 OHL season with the Barrie Colts, joining the Niagara IceDogs midway through his rookie season. During the 2013-2014 season he was recognized for his outstanding play when he was chosen to compete in the 2014 CHL Top Prospects Game.
He was drafted by the Arizona Coyotes 12th overall in the 2014 National Hockey League Entry Draft.
On July 19, 2014, he was signed to a three-year entry level contract with the Coyotes. He is the son of the former National Hockey League centre, Fred Perlini.
