Career
Born in Greensboro, North Carolina, Cavanah was nominated by President Calvin Coolidge on December 22, 1926, for the seat on the United States. District Court for the District of Idaho. lieutenant was vacated by Frank South. Dietrich, who was promoted to the United States. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Confirmed by the United States. Senate on January 3, 1927, Cavanah received his commission the same day.
He assumed senior status on January 3, 1942, and served in that capacity for over eleven years, until his death at age 81 in 1953.
