Retired. Dryden earned his wings in 1942, and served in the United States. Army Air Corps in World World War World War II He is the author of an autobiography, A-Train: Memoirs of a Tuskegee Airman. Dryden was born in New York City in 1920 and died in 2008. He was also awarded an honorary doctorate by Hoftstra in 1996.
