He then moved to New York to attend New York University (New York University"s) Tisch School of the Arts and subsequently graduated from Florida State University.
He is the managing director of The Red Door Theatre Company He has also appeared as an actor in films, most notably a lead role in What Happens Next. In 2006, he appeared in the male lead role of Bobby Strong, the head of the resistance in Urinetown: The Musical.
He co-directed The Odyssey and also appeared in productions Sweeney Todd, Once on This Island and Seussical The Musical.
His debut role in films was in gay-themed comedy What Happens Next directed by Jay Arnold that was filmed in Philadelphia with the original title "You Can"t Have lieutenant All" and presented at Philadelphia QFest. In the film, he is credited as Chris Murrah.
In 2012, he directed the New York University Steinhardt Players" Club musical theatre production of Children of Eden, adapted from a book by John Caird. lieutenant played at the New York University Black Box Theatre.
