Views
Clémence proudly devotes energy to support W4 and its field partners around the world. She is excited to be part of an organization that combines humanitarian work and digital technology to empower those most in need: "I wish to make a contribution to innovative, diverse, and ambitious projects that allow girls and women to escape the precarious socio-economic situations in which they live."
The world of women's rights is a natural milieu for this actress. Last year, she participated in the 'Pink October' campaign to help raise awareness of breast cancer, "because” - as she says - “although this disease can have devastating consequences, it can be easily be curbed by regular medical check-ups." All her life, Clémence has been surrounded by strong female role models, notably her mother and grandmothers, who "introduced me to the responsibility that each woman has to defend women's rights as a whole." Clémence has carried this conviction with her throughout her acting career, channeling her inner 'female warrior' to play “historical figures that have reminded me how fortunate I am to have been born a woman at this time, and in France."
Quotations:
"I realized that, ever since I was a child, I wanted to be an actress just to dress up in big fabrics and corsets and have adventures riding horses with lots of blood and action! And I got all that and more as Mary."
"To embody a character, you have to lose all judgment about them. Acting makes you look at life and try to understand it in a beautiful way."
Personality
Poésy is fluent in French and English, and speaks some Italian and Spanish.
She fell off of a horse at age seven, and did not ride one again until she was 20.
Poésy also sings. She can be heard singing on Miles Kane's track, "Happenstance".
Her name Clémence means "merciful" in Latin.
