Career
Albrecht entered the Kaiserliche Marine (Imperial German Navy) in 1899 as a sea-cadet and served as a Korvettenkapitän and commander of a torpedo boat flotilla in Flanders during World War I. After the war Albrecht stayed in the Reichsmarine, was promoted up to Admiral and became the commander of the Baltic Sea area command. In 1939 Albrecht was promoted to Generaladmiral. He led the operations of the Kriegsmarine during the Invasion of Poland.
On 31 December 1939 he went into retirement.
