Career
His research concerns scientific computing, numerical analysis, and partial differential equations. Tadmor earned his doctorate from Tel Aviv University in 1978, under the supervision of Saul Abarbanel. He was founding co-director of the Institute for Pure and Applied Mathematics at the University of California, Los Angeles in 1999.
In 2002, Tadmor was an invited speaker at the International Congress of Mathematicians.
In 2012, he became one of the inaugural fellows of the American Mathematical Society.
