Abdul Baqi Al-Omari born in Mosul to a rich family, many of his relatives serve as senior officials and officers in Ottoman Empire. We know little about his early life, whoever He serve as deputy governor of Mosul and deputy governor of Baghdad. During his live in Baghdad He has Majlis attended by Poets, senior officials and Faqihs such as Mahmud al-Alusi, Abdul Ghafar al-Akhras and many other personalities.
He composed poems for varied purposes such as religious, flirtation, compliment and so on. Also he wrote biographies for many personalities. Abdul Baqi Al-Omari, Abdul Ghafar al-Akhras and Mohammed Saeed Al-Habboubi are considered the best Ottoman-Iraqi poets during the 19th century.
Al-Omari died and was buried in Baghdad in 1861.
