Career
Pelech was selected by the Islanders in the third round, 65th overall, of the 2012 National Hockey League Entry Draft. Pelech was selected by the New York Islanders of the National Hockey League (National Hockey League) 65th overall during the 2012 National Hockey League Entry Draft. On March 15, 2014, he signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Islanders.
During the 2015-2016 season, Pelech received his first National Hockey League recall by the Islanders.
On November 13, 2015, he made his National Hockey League debut, playing 13 minutes in a 4-1 victory over the Anaheim Ducks in California. Pelech was again recalled to the Islanders later in the season on January 1, 2016 after Johnny Boychuk was injured.
