Background
Beier was born in Lokstedt, and started his footballing career at Eintracht Lokstedt, before moving to Football Club Union 1903 Altona and Hamburger SV. His first success came with a North German championship victory and appearance in the German Cup final with a town from Hansa, after achieving two draws against 1.
Career
He was a physically inclined, robustly built player. Football Club Nuremberg. In the 1923/24 season he became victorious for a third time with Hamburger, but in the next season he lost in a cup final match versus Nuremberg. He played his first international match on December 14, 1924 against Switzerland, a 1-1 stalemate.
He played in two more federal cup finals in 1927 and 1928, and he played in the Olympic football tournament in 1928.
