He regained the seat from the Liberal Democrat Martin Horwood and ended 23 years of Liberal Democratic representation for the town. Chalk was born in Foxcote outside Cheltenham, in 1977. Chalk took part in the January 18 2016 parliamentary debate following a petition to ban Donald Trump from the United Kingdom.
Some of his comments were widely broadcast, including in the United States of America. He said: "Can I not suggest that actually this is about buffoonery, and ultimately buffoonery should not be met with the blunt instrument of a ban, but with the classic British response of ridicule.".
