Career
Alf started his career as an amateur with Kingstonian and then played for when they joined the Third Division South in 1920. He appeared in 82 Football League matches for the Bees, scoring four goals and made 122 appearances in all competitions for the club Amos played in 9 of the 11 matches in 1926, when created a Football League record for the most consecutive matches without conceding a goal.
He was equally at home in the right or left half position, stout in defence, a vigorous tackler and a man who supported his forwards well with his clever footwork and accurate passing.
