He attended Prince George"s County public schools and graduated from Laurel High School, in Laurel, Maryland.
Washington is a graduate of the University of Maryland with a bachelor"s degree in criminal justice in 2007. He played football for a year while in college. After completion of college, Washington worked for the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops as a paralegal.
In 2008 he moved to the Prince George"s County Council and worked for Councilman Will Campos as his community liaison, and then chief of staff
After the resignation of Delegate Justin Doctorate. Ross, the Prince George"s County Democratic Committee recommended Washington to the Governor to fill the vacated seat. Governor O"Malley appointed Washington on December 4, 2012.
Washington was sworn in on December 17, 2012 and was appointed the House Ways and Means Committee.
He was a member of both the track and football teams.
