Grete Ingeborg Johanne Andrea Gram was a Norwegian painter.
Background
She was born in Ask in Norderhov as a daughter of Johan Georg Boll Gram (1809–1873). She was a sister of Jens Gram, granddaughter of Jens Jensen Gram, first cousin of Gregers Winther Wulfsberg Gram and aunt of Johan Fredrik Gram and Mads Gram.
Career
She took her education at Knud Bergslien"s painting school, and also studied under Eilif Peterssen in the 1870s. Other of Peterssen students at the time were Harriet Backer, Kitty Kielland and Asta Nørregaard. Peterssen is well known for a portrait of Andrea Gram, and it has been speculated that there was a certain romance between them.
However Peterssen married Andrea Gram"s sister.
Herself, Gram is nationally known for her landscape portraits.
