Career
Born in Neo Faliro, Papaemmanouil began playing football for the youth sides of Piraeus. He was released from the club in 1969, and played with Australian club Canterbury F.C. for six months. He retired in 1972 at age 33.
All told, Papaemmanouil made over 250 appearances in the Greek first division.
Papaemmanouil made 16 appearances and scored six goals for the Greece national football team from 1959 to 1965. He made his debut in a 1–1 Union of European Football Associations Euro 1960 qualifying draw against France on 12 March 1959.
