She previously represented Russia, her nation of birth, but switched allegiances in mid-2011 and has subsequently represented Kazakhstan. On 11 February 2013, she reached her best singles ranking of world number 334. On 3 November 2014, she peaked at world number 211 in the doubles rankings.
Danilina had a combined junior world ranking of number 3 in February 2013.
